Description
T-2 and HT-2 toxins are trichothecene mycotoxins produced primarily by fungi of the genus Fusarium . These natural contaminants develop in cereals and their derivatives during storage or under climatic conditions favorable to mold growth.
Their presence poses a risk to human and animal health immunotoxic, hematotoxic, and digestive effects . Measuring T-2 and HT-2 toxins helps ensure food safety regulatory compliance according to Regulation (EU) No 1881/2006 EFSA recommendations .
