Description

Stability and compatibility tests assess both the stability of the finished product and its interaction with the packaging. They examine chemical compatibility, material permeability, and potential migration between the contents and the packaging. Conducted in accordance with ICH guidelines or ISO standards, these tests are essential for validating primary packaging for cosmetic, nutraceutical, or food products.

These tests are conducted under real or accelerated conditions to simulate the effects of time, temperature, humidity, and light on the product/packaging assembly. They allow for the detection of potential interactions that could alter the product's quality, efficacy, or safety: color changes, degradation of active ingredients, and absorption or release of compounds by the packaging. Their implementation is particularly recommended when selecting a new material, changing suppliers, or launching a product in new markets.
