Analytical methods: GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS
Pesticide analysis relies on high-precision chromatographic methods, adapted to the detection of hundreds of molecules at trace levels (ppb):
- LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry) : suitable for polar compounds, such as herbicides, fungicides and growth regulators.
- GC-MS/MS (Gas Chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry) : used for more volatile molecules such as organochlorines, organophosphates or carbamates.
These two approaches allow for the application of a multi-residue method covering more than 500 active substances , in accordance with European regulations (Regulation (EC) No 396/2005). Maximum residue limits (MRLs) are controlled with high precision.
