Description

Perfume matching involves analyzing and reconstructing the olfactory composition of an existing fragrance in order to develop an equivalent or inspired version. This approach is used to reformulate a scent, identify its components, or develop an alternative in compliance with regulations. It is particularly popular in the cosmetics, hygiene, food flavoring, functional perfumery, and cleaning product sectors.

The analysis is carried out by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS), often with thermal desorption and olfactometry (GC-O), in order to identify the odorant molecules, their concentration and their sensory impact. The profile obtained is then interpreted by a perfumer or a formulator to propose a reformulation adapted to technical or regulatory constraints (IFRA, allergens, naturalness, etc.).

The matrices analyzed include: alcoholic perfumes, perfumed oils, sprays, perfumed cosmetic products, detergents, candles, diffusers, etc.

At YesWeLab , we collaborate with a rigorously selected network of laboratories, most of which are certified and/or accredited (ISO 17025, COFRAC, etc.). These laboratories are chosen based on your specific needs, the matrices to be analyzed, and the analytical techniques or methods required.
If you have any specific requirements, please do not hesitate to specify them when submitting your request: our scientific team makes every effort to respond accurately and responsively.
Since 2020, many manufacturers, distributors, and design offices have trusted us to manage their analyses, entrusting us with their samples via our digital platform.
