Description

Lupulone is a bitter compound (beta acid) extracted from hops, used for its antimicrobial properties and as a natural preservative in beverages. Its dosage is essential in brewing products, hop extracts, or supplements. Analysis by HPLC with UV detection, sometimes coupled with mass spectrometry. Matrices analyzed: hop extracts, beers, plant powders. The analysis also allows the characterization of the bitter acid profile in addition to hops and humolone.
