Description
Particle size analysis determines the particle size distribution in a solid or suspended sample, expressed in particular by the parameters D10, D50 and D90. These indicators correspond respectively to the diameters for which 10%, 50% and 90% of the total particle volume are smaller. This characterization is essential in many sectors such as food, materials, cosmetics, or the environment, where particle size influences critical properties such as texture, stability or reactivity. Commonly used techniques include laser diffraction and particle size sieving. Typical matrices analyzed include powders, granules, soils, suspensions, or solid finished products.
