Description
Goitrin (or oxazolidine-2-thione) is an organosulfur compound derived from the breakdown of glucosinolates, naturally present in plants of the Brassicaceae family (broccoli, cabbage, turnip, mustard, etc.). It is known to interfere with the synthesis of thyroid hormones, notably by inhibiting the absorption of iodine by the thyroid.
