Description

Macamides are fatty acid amides specific to maca root (Lepidium meyenii), considered as characteristic markers of the dried or processed plant. Benzylhexadecanamide is one of the main macamides, associated with adaptogenic, energizing, and neuroprotective effects. The determination of these compounds allows to guarantee the authenticity of the raw material, to evaluate the quality of maca extracts, and to standardize nutraceutical formulations. The analysis is carried out by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC or UPLC), often coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS), offering excellent specificity and sensitivity, even at trace levels in dry or encapsulated extracts.

At YesWeLab, we collaborate with a carefully selected network of laboratories, most of which are certified and/or accredited (ISO 17025, COFRAC, etc.). These laboratories are chosen based on your specific needs, the matrices to be analyzed, and the required analytical techniques or methods.
