Dosage of bovine, ovine, caprine PAGs
Description
The PAG (Pregnancy-Associated Glycoproteins) assay detects the presence of specific glycoproteins produced by the placenta in ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats) from a few days after fertilization. This test is used in a zootechnical setting to confirm pregnancy early, non-invasively and reliably, via blood or milk analysis. The analysis is generally carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), allowing sensitive and specific detection of PAGs according to the target species. This assay is a valuable tool for breeders, insemination centers or animal selection structures, in order to optimize the management of reproductive cycles.
