Determination of the critical wavelength

Critical wavelength determination analysis is used to assess the effectiveness of UV filters in sunscreens.

The critical wavelength (CWL) is measured by UV spectrophotometry to determine the protection spectrum.

It allows the “broad spectrum” character to be established according to regulatory criteria (e.g.: ISO 24443).
